Robinson Consultants is seeking a self-motivated CAD Designer (Civil 3D) to join the collaborative and dynamic teams in both our Ottawa and Hamilton office locations.  As a CAD Designer (Civil 3D), you will work on a variety of infrastructure engineering projects for both the public and private sector that may include roads, sewers, watermains, culverts, stormwater management facilities, hydraulic modelling and construction contract management.   The ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritize tasks, perform on multiple assignments concurrently, and function in a high‐demand and fast‐paced environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Produce and/or support engineering designs, and all drawings, details, or other documents as may be required, through all phases of a project, and for a variety of project types. This can include functional, preliminary, and final design, as well as tender documents, construction drawings, field orders and as-builts.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers and other team members to ensure coordination of design effort.
  • Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Adheres to the corporate guidelines and applies them in their work.
  • Coordinate with administrative and technical support staff.
  • Exercise professional and sound judgment in the execution of responsibilities.

You should have:

  • 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or related field) or 2-year Diploma in Construction Engineering Technician or a Degree in either Civil or Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D required.
  • 5 years of demonstrated progressive years of experience
  • OACETT membership or CET/C.Tech designation considered an asset.
  • Organizational and time management skills and the ability to balance diverse, changing, and conflicting priorities to meet short and long-term project milestones.
  • Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment required
  • Ability to work independently, and contribute in a team environment
